Wharfebank Mills tenant launches networking event

New internal communications network for Northern SMEs launched

Award-winning integrated marketing agency and long standing tenant at Wharfebank Mills, Engage Comms Ltd has partnered with video production specialists Reel Film to set up the ‘Internal Comms Network North’ to bring together and support SMEs in using strategic internal communications to transform their organisations.

After winning the ‘Best Internal Communications Campaign’ category at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ Yorkshire & Lincolnshire Awards 2018 for their work with Harry Fairclough Construction, the team at Engage Comms identified a gap in the market for high growth SMEs and other organisations in the North of England to better understand and embrace the role of strategic internal communications in the digital age. Partner agency Reel Film had also seen a growing demand from clients for video content for internal use but a lack of understanding about the strategy behind it.

The ‘Internal Comms Network North’ launch event on 2 May 2019 in Leeds will be opened by keynote speaker  Group Head of Internal Communications and Engagement at EMIS Group plc Colin Middlemiss. Colin will draw on his experience of previous roles at brands including Morrisons, Yorkshire Water and NPower and share how he has set up a highly effective, strategic and measurable internal communications function at a healthcare tech company which has 2,000 staff across multiple sites globally. Engage Comms and Reel Film will also be sharing their expertise and there will be the opportunity for SME leaders and internal comms specialists to network. This will be the first in a series of regular events run by Engage Comms and Reel Film for members of the network.

A great example of the high caliber businesses that operate from Wharfebank Mills.
